What does a person imagine when they talk about an Internet connection?
What does a person imagine when they talk about an Internet connection? A thick cable that connects to your computer? That's probably what it is. They are partly right, because without" classic " wires, no telecommunications technology is simply impossible. But the Internet itself has become literally ubiquitous today. In other words, you can connect to it without all kinds of wired connections. And all this thanks to Wi-Fi. Moreover, if a few years ago Wi-Fi networks were only a pleasant addition to the usual home Internet, now in any relatively large city there are a considerable number of public, that is, completely free Wi-Fi access points. Such free Internet points can be found in cafes, restaurants, shopping complexes, and even just on the street. To understand the scale of their use, you should at least remember that thousands of mobile devices pass through collective Wi-Fi access points every day. And this automatically means that some risks arise.

It would seem that what kind of dangers can lie in wait for a smartphone or tablet user when they just connect to another free network? In fact, there are many dangers. The most basic of them is the so – called interception of network traffic. Its consequences usually include blocking accounts and stealing all sorts of passwords, from social networks to Bank cards and other data. And this, in turn, is fraught with loss of money from the accounts. But you should not be afraid of free Wi-Fi points and avoid them. You just need to adhere to certain methods of protection.

You should start by disabling the file sharing function in the settings of your mobile device or laptop and automatically connecting to detected Wi-Fi networks. This will avoid unsupervised connections and therefore eliminate the possibility of scanning traffic. For the same reason, it is better not to connect to completely unknown public networks. It will also be useful to ask employees of various institutions for the names of the corresponding access points, since some attackers specifically deploy free Wi-Fi zones for their own selfish purposes.

But the precautions don't end there. A regularly updated antivirus and firewall can provide additional security when using open wireless connections. In addition, when surfing the Internet via a free Wi-Fi hotspot, it is recommended to visit only those sites that support data transfer over the secure HTTPS Protocol and have a two-stage authorization system. Its meaning is that in addition to the usual login/password input, it requests a unique code that is sent to the mobile phone number via SMS. This ensures that even if an attacker intercepts the user's credentials, they will still not be able to log in to the account.
Despite the risks associated with the use of public Wi-Fi networks, they should not be completely avoided. There are simple rules to stay safe when connecting to unfamiliar networks; make sure that Wi-Fi networks and the password clearly correspond to those provided by the network operator
VPN hides the information loop that will certainly remain in the unprotected Network at any of your Internet connections and along the entire information transfer route. Servers guarantee your anonymity and reliable servers reliably protect the history of all your requests.
Everyone must remember: no matter what you do on the Internet, there will always be an invisible controller. At a minimum, your traffic and the IP address of your computer can be monitored by the provider. VPN will protect your actions on the Internet from outside control and fixation will provide the opportunity for free anonymous and secure access to the Internet. VPN  blocks access to other users to your personal data and to information about your location.
Install a Wi-Fi router, he will distribute Wi-Fi to which you connect your laptop You can connect your computer to a free Wi-Fi network in cafe stores Or to an unsecured neighbor network This is much more convenient than laying a network cable
VPN technology has recently been used not only to create private networks, but also by some providers of the last mile in space to provide Internet access. With the proper level of implementation and use of special software, the VPN can provide a high level of encryption of the transmitted information.
